Campaign Update & More!

We want to extend a BIG THANK YOU to all those who participated in the Dignity Campaign over the summer. Some of you became fundraisers in the Run for Dignity, some gave directly to the campaign, while others shared it with friends. Thank you for however you participated. It was a huge success! We ended up surpassing our goal and raising $22,000 for our English students. That money went directly to our fall program which is serving 75 students in our Level 1 & 2 classes!

We are especially excited to work with Unite for Literacy with whom we’ll work at translating children’s books into different languages. Thank you for your support and to all the volunteers who help in the classroom.
This fall we are not just excited about the ESL program, but for the opening of a new refugee dental clinic, and an open house we are hosting October 18th. Please keep reading to find out more.

We are Opening a Refugee Dental Clinic

by Carolyn Anello, Co-Founder & RDH

Hi Everyone,
As a dental hygienist, I have long hoped to have the opportunity to use my oral health skills to meet the needs of the refugee population that we serve. Then, last fall the opportunity arose. Cherry Hills Dental Associates donated dental equipment including 2 hydraulic dental chairs, and many other pieces of equipment necessary to operate a dental clinic. After much planning, construction began the first week of September. It is so exciting to see the transformation of the space. The wood floors were put in last week, which were donated from Susan Schwab, and they look amazing (see photo below). We only have a few more weeks until the clinic will be a fully functional dental clinic.Thank you to everyone who has been instrumental in making this happen. We are so excited to embark on this endeavor.

Blessings,
Carolyn Anello, RDH
